Twelve stages featured panel discuss-ions and special guests, read-ings and storytelling, live poetry, theatre and perform-ance, writing workshops, inde-pendent bookstores and liter-ary organizations. UCLA CAMPUS, WESTWOOD, CALIFORNIA. THE LOS ANGELES TIMES FESTIVAL OF BOOKS. David Sheldon and Joan McCall did book signings. The festival is the largest book event in the country and was attended this year by 127,000 people. PRINCIPIA COLLEGE - Elsah, Illinois. Alumni Reception Weekend, July 13-16. In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Marshall Brooks Library, the works of "distinguished alumni authors" were highlighted. A reception was held for 500 guests and authors.
